NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING

A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE HELD
ON Thursday, January 25, 2018, AT 4:00 p.m. AT THE Charlottesville-Albemarle Technical
Education Center (CATEC) Auditorium, located at 1000 Rio Rd. E.

                       THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS:

                           City Council / School Board joint meeting

             Closed session as provided by Section 2.2-3712 of the Virginia Code
             (City Manager update on negotiations with the County on the courts.)

                          CATEC Auditorium – January 25, 2018

      Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: Ms.
Walker, Ms. Hill, Mr. Bellamy, Ms. Galvin, Mr. Signer.

       Council heard a presentation from the School Board on the FY 2018-19 budget.

       On motion by Ms. Hill, seconded by Mr. Bellamy, Council voted, (Ayes: Mr. Bellamy,
Ms. Galvin, Ms. Hill, Mr. Signer, Ms. Walker; Noes: None;) to adjourn into closed session as
authorized by Virginia Code sec. 2.2-3711 (A) (1), for the purpose of receiving an update on
negotiations with the County on the courts.

          On motion by Ms. Hill, seconded by Mr. Bellamy, Council certified by the following
vote (Ayes: Mr. Bellamy, Ms. Galvin, Ms. Hill, Mr. Signer, Ms. Walker; Noes: None,) that to the
best of each Council Member's knowledge, only public business matters lawfully exempted from
 the open meeting requirements of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and identified in the
  motion convening the closed session were heard, discussed or considered in the closed session.
