NOTICE OF SPECIAL MEETING

A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE CHARLOTTESVILLE CITY COUNCIL WILL BE HELD
ON Tuesday, May 29, 2018 AT 5:00 p.m. AT City Space, Small Conference Room, 100 5th
Street NE.

THE PROPOSED AGENDA IS AS FOLLOWS:

           Closed Meeting to consult with legal counsel pertaining to actual litigation

                      City Space, Small Conference Room – May 29, 2018

         Council met in special session on this date with the following members present: Ms.
Walker, Ms. Hill, Mr. Bellamy, Ms. Galvin, Mr. Signer. On motion by Ms. Galvin, seconded by
Ms. Hill, Council voted, (Ayes: Mr. Bellamy, Ms. Galvin, Ms. Hill, Mr. Signer, Ms. Walker;
Noes: None;) to adjourn into closed session as authorized by Virginia Code sec. 2.2-3711 (A)
(1), to consult with legal counsel pertaining to actual litigation (City v. Pa. Lightfoot Militia, et
al.) because consultation in an open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating or litigating
posture of City Council.

          On motion by Ms. Hill, seconded by Mr. Bellamy, Council certified by the following
vote (Ayes: Mr. Bellamy, Ms. Galvin, Ms. Hill, Mr. Signer, Ms. Walker; Noes: None,) that to the
best of each Council Member's knowledge, only public business matters lawfully exempted from
 the open meeting requirements of the Virginia Freedom of Information Act and identified in the
  motion convening the closed session were heard, discussed or considered in the closed session.
