  Title:               Zoning Rewrite Project – Schedule and Engagement Plan


Background
On November 15, 2021 Council adopted the new Charlottesville Comprehensive Plan. The next
step in the C-Ville Plans Together process is to develop and adopt a new Zoning Ordinance to
advance implementation of the Plan. This project begins this year.

Discussion
Staff will be presenting the schedule and community engagement plan for the zoning project at the
January 18, 2022 meeting. Broadly, this project will have three phases commencing from the
project kick-off in the last week of January 2022 through to the winter/spring of 2023.

Community engagement will be an essential aspect of this work and we are using as a guide the
newly adopted Community Engagement chapter of the Comprehensive Plan.
