The online meeting was called to order at 12:10 p.m.

Public Comment:
None

Approval of Meeting Minutes:
The October meeting minutes were approved as submitted.

Members’ Report:
Ms. Brown shared that Birth Sisters of Charlottesville received a grant to train doulas on culturally responsive
trauma-informed care.

Chair’s Report:
None

Annual Report to City Council:
The annual report will be presented to City Council on December 21 at 4:00 p.m. The report will include
information about the following items:
     Agency statistics
     Increase in Benefits applications since the beginning of COVID-19
     Increase in the number of adoptions
     The Casey Foundation recognizing the agency for its high kinship placement rate
     Family Services Specialists continuing to make monthly visits
     Child care subsidy workers recognized for 100% on-time processing
     New Parent Navigator position
     Economic impact and funding sources
     How the agency has adapted business processes since the beginning of COVID-19

Chair & Vice Chair Nominations:
The board will wait until new board members are appointed to elect a new chair and vice chair.

Director’s Report:
Annual Holiday Luncheon: The agency will host a virtual lunchtime meeting in December to celebrate the
holidays. The date and time of the meeting are to be decided. Ms. Kuknyo invited board members to attend the
celebration.


The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday, January 25, 2021 and will be held virtually using Zoom
to promote social distancing.

The meeting was adjourned at 12:55 p.m.
